Personnel protective equipment

Due to the violent nature of abrasive blasting, standard gear is typically insufficient. Comprehensive protection requires highly specialized equipment:

  • Air-Fed Blasting Helmets: The most critical piece of PPE. These helmets supply a continuous stream of breathable air to protect against inhaling hazardous dust. They must adhere to rigorous standards like CE (BS EN 271 in Europe) or type-approved respiratory systems.
  • Heavy-Duty Blast Suits: Multi-layered, abrasion-resistant suits (leather and cotton or heavy canvas) designed to deflect bouncing abrasive media.
  • Industrial Gloves & Safety Boots: Gauntlet style leather gloves and steel-toe safety boots to protect extremities.
